Firm Overview
Rice & Stallknecht, P.C. is a Professional Corporation engaged in the practice of law with offices at 2200 Opitz Boulevard, Suite 200, Woodbridge, Virginia 22191. Founded in 1985 by Karl M. Rice and Leslie Ruth Stallknecht, the law firm is comprised of two attorneys who each have over 30 years of legal experience and two paralegals who have been associated with the law firm for more than 10 years.
Our attorneys concentrate their practice in the areas of Commercial and Investment Real Estate Law (including land), General Business Law with an emphasis on Contract Law and the Formation and Sales of Businesses, Wills and Trusts, Estate Planning for families and elder law clients, Estate Administration, and Probate Law. Our lawyers have always concentrated our practice in a small number of areas which we can master, rather than attempting to be all things to all clients. The law firm does not try to offer “one stop shopping”, and we refer clients whose needs we cannot meet to our satisfaction to other attorneys who can.
We also emphasize fast response, personal service, and attention to the needs and goals of our clients. Our relationship with our clients is important to us. Our attorneys both come from teaching backgrounds, so we can explain legal concepts and strategies and involve our clients more meaningfully in the legal process.
Since its founding in 1985, Rice & Stallknecht, P.C. has emphasized the use of technology to serve clients more effectively, responsively, efficiently, and at a lower cost. Each attorney and paralegal in our law office uses a computer, email, computer-aided research, document scanning, and the Internet as a resource extensively in his or her work. Automated document assembly software is used to draft documents which, although tailored to the precise needs of the individual client, can be prepared accurately and quickly at a reduced cost to our clients. Practice management software, integrated with accounting software, and keeping all documents in electronic format, allow us to keep accurate, immediately available records on client cases which are available to everyone in the law firm from any location.
