
Leslie Ruth Stallknecht is a native of Prince William
County, Virginia, having graduated first in her class from Gar-Field High School
in Woodbridge in 1968. Leslie Ruth then obtained her undergraduate degree from
the College of William and Mary, her Master's degree in English from Syracuse
University, and in 1979, her law degree, magna cum laude, from Syracuse
University. Leslie Ruth worked as a judicial law clerk in the Onondaga County,
New York court system and joined the law firm of Westmoreland, Patterson &
Moseley in Macon, Georgia in 1981 as an associate attorney. From 1982 to 1985,
Leslie Ruth also taught as an Adjunct Professor in the law clinic of Mercer
University in Macon, Georgia. In 1985, Leslie Ruth and her husband, Karl M.
Rice, moved to Dumfries, Virginia, and opened the firm now known as Rice &
Stallknecht, P.C.
Leslie Ruth emphasizes Social Security Disability in her practice, but also practices in the areas of general business, and wills and estate planning. She has handled Social Security matters for over 15 years, handling cases in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Georgia. She has extensive experience not only at the administrative level, but in Federal Court as well. She has been an active member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR) since 1981. She is admitted to practice in Virginia, Georgia, and New York.
Leslie Ruth is a member of the Prince William Association of Realtors and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR). Leslie Ruth has represented the Dumfries Magisterial District of Prince William County on the Citizens Advisory Committee for review of the water and sewer elements of the comprehensive plan and served as the chairperson of the Citizens Development Task Force whose mission was to ensure that mechanisms were in place for quality development around the proposed Disney America project and she also chaired the county Citizens Comprehensive Plan Task Force. Leslie Ruth writes articles and lectures widely on Social Security, business, and estate planning subjects.
